The following are the rules of the Inbetweeners Singles Club (by membership vote or in common practice for the life of the club).
Club Rules 1. TITLE. The name of the club shall be the Inbetweeners Singles Club. 2. MISSION. The mission of the club shall be to provide a social club for men and women aged 40 to 65 to meet and become acquainted with other people our age and to participate in organized activities. 3. MANAGEMENT. 3.1. The club shall be managed by a committee consisting of elected officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer ) and other committee members as deemed necessary by the officers. 3.2. Planning/business meetings shall be held monthly as required. 3.3. Any member is eligible to serve as an officer (October 2005 member vote) and is automatically provided voting status while serving as an officer if over 60 (Jan 07 member vote). All members of club have same voting rights. (Member vote August 07) 3.4. Business matters are discussed and decisions made at monthly planning meetings, including managing of club financial matters. The Officers will keep proper records of all financial transactions of the Club. Any expenditure of over $200 will require prior approval of a majority of the officers.
3.5. All bills will be paid by check and the checking account will have 2 possible signers that are current officers. 3.6. The income and property of the Club shall be applied solely towards the promotion of the mission of the club as set forth in these rules and no portion shall be paid or transferred directly by way of profit to the members of the Club. 4. DUES: Dues shall be $35 for the first year and every year payable upon anniversary date of joining the club. If dues are not paid within 60 days of renewal date, members will be removed from membership list and email/mailing lists. 5. MEMBERSHIP. 5.1.1. Visitors are welcome to attend 3 club events to become acquainted with the club before joining. While our social hours are held in public places, it is our intention that these are to benefit our membership and provide brief introductory period to prospective members. Non-members may be gently counseled of this fact. 5.1.2. Membership is restricted to non-married* persons ages 40-65. (Must join before age 65.) Persons who reach the age of 65 while in the club will be grandfathered in and will have all the same privileges as other members. *Non-married is defined as legally separated, divorced, widowed or never married. (October 2005 member vote extended maximum age to 65) (November 2007 member vote added "grandfather" clause to rules.)
5.1.3. Benefits of Membership include regular updates of information, schedule and membership lists of the club; special access to club website; discounted prices to special club events; and invitations to all club events. Club Events held in members’ homes are generally restricted to members only.
6. ELECTION OF OFFICERS
6.1. Election of officers is held annually in month of December to take office January 1 of the following year. At least fourteen days' notice of such meeting shall be given to all members if ballots are not mailed but available at a club event only. The management committee shall solicit for new officers and appoint a nominating committee to oversee the election process.
6.2. All members of the club have the same voting rights. (August 2007 member vote)
7. CODE OF CONDUCT: 7.1. All personal information provided to the club shall be utilized only to distribute club information to members, and determine renewal offers of membership. Privacy will be respected.
7.2 No member shall make use of club membership information to solicit for business purposes.
7.3. Any improper conduct of a member or visitor of the Club is to be reported to an officer.
8. ALTERATION TO RULES: These Rules may be altered or amended at an annual or special Meeting or Election. The Secretary shall give Members twenty one days clear notice of the exact proposed alteration before the date of such vote. No alterations or amendments to the Rules shall be declared carried unless two-thirds of Members voting are in favor of the proposal.
9. OTHER MATTERS. Any matter not explicitly covered by these rules shall be decided by the Club Officers with due consideration of need for consultation with members. |
